REGIONAL FORENSIC SCIENCE LABORATORY, MYSURU

RFSL Mysuru started working from 23/02/2006 as per the Govt. Order No.HD.8.PFS/2003 Dt: 26/09/2003.

At present there are four sections functioning in this Laboratory, namely Biology, Toxicology, Chemistry and Photography Section.  These sections are receiving cases such as Farmer Suicide cases, Crime cases pertaining to Women and Children such as Dowry Deaths, POCSO, Sexual Assault cases, Atrocities cases, Excise and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances cases pertaining to Districts of Southern range.

The main functions of these sections are to receive the crime exhibits/samples from all the police stations of southern range and to conduct scientific examination and to report their findings through RFSL reports to the concerned Investigating Officer as early as possible. 

The Laboratory is also providing 24 x 7 round the clock crime scene examination visits throughout the southern range and Mysuru city.  The Laboratory is provided with state of the art Mobile Forensic Lab for attending SOC duties

Theory and practical classes to the newly appointed Police Constables and WPCs etc., and also have guided Post Graduate students of Mysuru University in their dissertation work.
