Training

A two year training program for the newly joined Scientific Officers (SOs) is already designed, approved and implemented as per the Standing Order 1036 issued by DG & IGP, Karnataka State. This training program covers all areas of forensic science to impart better foundation for the newly joined officers before they start issuing forensic test reports. The program begins with an extensive 3 months training at National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Subsequently, the officers will undergo training at CFSL, SFSL, RFSLs, Karnataka Police Academy, CID and FPB. Also, the officers are attached to Medical Colleges, Department of Prosecutions, Dog Squad, BDDS and State Armoury/CCT. As a part of this training program, the newly joined batch of 53 SOs have already completed training at National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat for a period of 3 months.

The laboratory is providing training in the form of regular classes to the user agencies such as departments of Police, Forensic Medicine, Forest, Military Police, Judiciary, etc. Visits to the laboratory are also accorded to the end users for practical demonstrations whenever required. Long term training programs on “Scientific Aid to Investigation” are also conducted for the Police Officers participating in All India Police Duty Meet Competitions held every year.
